Dave Allen Stuns Johnny Fisher with Brutal Knockout at Copper Box

Redemption for Allen

In a gripping night of heavyweight action at the Copper Box Arena on May 17, Dave “White Rhino” Allen delivered a stunning fifth-round knockout over rising star Johnny Fisher — settling a score that had lingered since their controversial first fight.
The rematch carried tension from the outset. Their initial bout in December 2024 ended in a split decision for Fisher out in Saudi Arabia — a result many fans and pundits disputed, particularly after Allen knocked him down in the fifth. Even Fisher’s own father admitted Allen deserved the nod.
Fisher started strongly this time, jabbing with purpose and digging to the body. For a few rounds, it looked like the 26-year-old was on track to repeat the result, perhaps even more convincingly. But Allen, with all his grit and awkward timing, weathered the early pressure.
Then came round five.
With Fisher slightly square and open, Allen caught him clean with a vicious left hook. Fisher went down hard. Medics were in immediately, and he briefly needed oxygen. Thankfully, he recovered — but the result was decisive.
The win not only handed Allen the WBA Inter-Continental heavyweight title, but also a satisfying moment of vindication. Speaking afterward, he said the victory meant the world, especially for his family. He ruled out a trilogy, citing his friendship with Fisher and concern for his long-term health.
Eddie Hearn was quick to praise Allen, floating the idea of a shot at the British title next. And Allen, now back in the mix, seems open to it.
Fisher took the loss on the chin, vowing to come back stronger. At 26 and still learning, he’s got time — but on this night, the veteran showed that experience and heart still count for a lot in this game.
